The CEC announced today the end of voter registration process which commenced last Sunday in the schools of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The exercise resulted in the registration of 68 thousand high school students with a registration percentage of 98% of the total targeted eligible high school students who reached the legal age of registration. This number will be included in the voters’ registry in which the total number of registered voters currently stands at 2.1 million voters.
The CEC will commence, next week, data entry and processing of registration data which includes the addition of new registrants and cancellation of deaths. The process is expected to be completed by mid-April 2018.
On the other hand, the CEC confirms that online registration is available throughout the year through its webpage: www.elections.ps. to unregistered Palestinians residing in Palestine or a broad, who are 17 years and above and holders of Palestinian identification cards.
It should be indicated that voter registration is a regular exercise the CEC conducts on an annual basis to ensure an accurate and up-to-date voter registry ready for any upcoming elections.
