The State of Palestine, represented by the Central Elections Commission, has won the membership of the Executive Board of the The Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) during the association’s annual meeting held last week.
CEO, Hisham Kuhail and Deputy CEO, Ashraf A-Shuaibi participated in the A-WEB annual meeting held in Romani’s capital, Bucharest, during the period 31st August until 3rd September 2017. Palestine was selected for the membership of the A-WEB Executive Board which consists of 17 members representing elections administrations in five continents for a full term of two years.
It should be indicated that the A-WEB currently includes 102 member states. Palestine was the first arab country to join the A-WEB since its establishment. The A-WEB holds regular meetings to discuss electoral issues and exchange expertise among election management bodies from around the world.
