The CEC Commissioners met today at CEC premises in Al-Bireh and through video conference with Gaza Regional Office to decide on the challenges to nomination of electoral lists and candidates
The CEC decided to reject all of the 97 challenges received during the three day legal period of submission of challenges following the publishing of the preliminary list of nominations.
Accordingly, the CEC will officially notify concerned parties of its decisions which may be subject to appeal before the competent court within three days. The court will adjudicate appeals within five days of submission of appeals and issue its final decisions according to elections law.
The final register of nominated lists and candidates will be published on 29 April coinciding with the commencement of election campaigning activities.
