The CEC announces the postponement of ‘exhibition and challenge’ of voters’ registry

The CEC announces that the process of exhibition of voters’ registry for objections, which was scheduled on 25 February 2017 according to the published elections timeline, is postponed for one week. 

The postponement comes in response to the Cabinet’s approach to postpone its decision regarding elections in the Gaza Strip until its next session on 28 February 2017. The Cabinet’s approach was upon a request of the national factions and Civil Society Organizations to exert further efforts in convincing Hamas to reconsider its decision of not participating in the upcoming elections. Accordingly, the Cabinet has requested the CEC to postpone elections preparations for one week.
