The CEC commenced today the training of 700 teachers and supervisors from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Ramallah and Gaza. The supervisors will work as registration staff during the upcoming registration drive which is scheduled from 16th-20th of March 2014. The registration will directly target high school students who turned 17 years old since last registry update whose number is estimated at 68,000 students. For this aim, registration will be conducted through mobile teams in 839 governmental and private schools in all districts of the WB and GS.
It should be indicated that registration is a regular technical operation that is conducted annually to ensure the correctness and update of the registry by including new eligible registrants and cancellation of deaths from the voters list.
