The CEC concluded a two -day training session for polling supervisors and counting staff in preparations for the upcoming second complementary elections which will be held in the 8 localities of Al-Jadeera, Hiwarah, Azzoun, Atma, Qira, Deir Nizam, Bodros, Al-Khader and Al- Yasereyeh on June 1st 2013.
The training commenced last Sunday where 193 participants received training on counting procedures and transfer of sensitive electoral material.
In another context and according to Elections Law No. 10 of 2005 and election timeline set by the CEC, election campaigning activities which commenced Saturday, May 18th shall end on Thursday, May 30th. Any campaigning activities are thus prohibited by law after this date.
On this occasion, the CEC calls on media outlets and nominated lists to abide by this regulation by abstaining from publishing any promotional material. According to law, any nominated list or candidate are obliged by law to submit to the CEC a detailed statement of funding resources and expenditure during election campaigns regardless of the election results.
