The CEC announced the timeline for the second complementary elections scheduled on 1/6/2013 in 36 localities in the West Bank.
The timeline was set according to local council elections law no 10 of 2005 and cabinet decision issued on 12-3-2013.
Accordingly, voter registry will be published for five days in the participating localities as of 23 March to allow for objections. Nomination will commence on 16 April for ten days. The last date of list withdrawal of nomination will be until 17 May.
The CEC will publish the final list of candidates and the time for election campaigning on 18 May. Campaigning will last until 30 May whereas polling day is set on 1 June.
It should be indicated that the Cabinet has issued a decision to hold second round of complementary election in the localities where elections where postponed due to a court ruling, the localities where no list qualified for nomination during the original local elections period and the first complementary elections as well as in the localities where the majority of its council members have resigned.
