Today, the CEC completed the transfer of complete voter registry forms from Gaza to Ramallah and commenced processing of data.
CEC Chairman, Dr. Hanna Nasir stated that the final registry is expected to be published by 10 April instead of 30 March as was previously anticipated.
Dr. Nasir explained the delay is due to Israeli measures which prevented the transfer of complete registration applications from Gaza to West Bank where the data center in which applications are processed is located. Alternatively, the CEC used scanners to digitally transfer the data over ten days.
As soon as data processing is finished the CEC will prepare the final registry on CDs to be distributed to political parties and will be available on CECs website www.elections.ps.
