With the end of appeals process and the adjudication of appeals by competent courts, a number of issues have been raised in the local newspapers and on social media with regards to CEC’s decisions refusing the nomination of some lists which did not qualify, especially in light of the variations in the legal interpretations by the judges who handled such complains.
Despite the differences in the rulings of competent courts according to each case, the CEC stresses that judicial rulings are biding and not subject to neither discussion nor refusal by the CEC which will only implement such decisions regardless of its interpretation of the law. The CEC further confirms its respect to the judicial system and distance itself from the controversy raised over this issue and maintains hope for everyone to respect the court decisions and abide by the provisions of the law.
