The CEC announces the end of nomination period

Last night, the CEC announced the end of nomination for the upcoming local election scheduled on October 20th.

Nomination lasted for eleven days as of September 1st, during which the CEC received 582 nomination applications from across localities. The CEC is now processing applications and entering candidates data in preparation to be presented at the Commissioners meeting on Thursday.

Upon the official approval of results, the CEC will publish the preliminary list of candidates for any objections for three days as of next Sunday, September 16th at the headquarters of the local authorities. The preliminary list will also be available at CEC’s webpage: www.elections.ps. Any objections to the nomination of a given list or a candidate will be reviewed by the CEC within three days.
