As part of its preparations for voter registry update in Gaza, the CEC announced today the commencement of accreditation of observers and media representatives through its Gaza district offices (Dos).
Registration preparations will commence on June 2nd and will last for six weeks during which the CEC will conduct voter education campaigns, accredit election observers and media outlets, train and recruit registration staff. Registration will be conducted from 3rd -14th July.
It should be indicated that registry update is a regular activity the CEC performs annually. However, in Gaza strip, the voter’s list has not been updated since 2007.
