The CEC conducts training sessions for political parties

The CEC commenced today a series of training sessions for representatives of political parties across the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The first two- day session was conducted in Jenin. Participants were informed of the legal requirements for the formation of electoral lists and running election campaigns. Another six sessions are to follow in Nablus, Ramallah, Hebron, Jerusalem and Gaza Strip.

The training comes as part of other activities undertaken by the Commission within a project entitled “Supporting the Central Elections Commission” funded by the Global Program for Electoral Cycle Support (GPECS) and implemented in cooperation with the UNDP to enhance the capacities of CEC staff and engagement with civic society organizations and election stakeholders such as political parties and the media.
