11 August, Ramallah- In preparations for the upcoming local council elections assigned on 22 October, the CEC met today in its headquarters in Al-bireh with representatives of political parties.
Mr. Hisham Kuhail, CEO, opened the meeting by discussing CEC’s preparations completed so far. Other issues discussed were the decision of the Minister of Local Government with regards to the localities where elections will be held as well as CEC’s role.
During the meeting, representatives were presented with the elections timeline, the list of approved localities where elections will be held and latest registration statistics.
On their part, parties representatives stressed on their role in supporting the Commission and in encouraging citizens to practice their rights in registration and voting.
