The CEC has completed the processing of the voter data collected in the most recent voter registration drive in the West Bank. The total number of registrants in the West Bank has reached 1,016,459. This number represent 82.44% of the total number of eligible registrants – those who are at least 17 years of age – according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.
The announcement of these results follows the completion of the exhibition and challenge period and the resolution of challenges received by the CEC regarding the preliminary voters list, which was exhibited from 9 to 13 April.
It should be noted that 912,357 registrants throughout 290 localities in the West Bank are eligible to vote in the upcoming local elections scheduled for 9 July 2011.
