The Chairman of the Central Elections Commission (CEC) Dr. Hanna Nassir signed today a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Palestinian Minister of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) Ms. Lamis al –Alami regarding local elections. The MOU will enable the CEC to use staff and facilities of the Ministry to implement local elections according to the Cabinet’s decision issued on 8 February.
The signing of the MOU comes within the context of CEC’s preparations for the upcoming local elections on 9 July. According to the MOU the CEC will use the facilities of the Ministry as registration, exhibition, challenge and polling centers and the school teachers as polling staff on E-day.
