Cabinet Decision No (01/36/13/C.M/P.A) for 2010 on
Local Councils Elections

Based on the authorities granted to us by the law, upon the recommendation of the Minister of Local Governance, for the sake of public interest and after reviewing Local Councils Elections Law No (10) of 2005 and its amendments, Local Councils Law No (1) of 1997 and its amendments, Decree by Law No (1) of 2007 on General Elections, Presidential Decree No ( ) of 2005 on the Central Elections Commission issued on 1 April 2005, Presidential Decree No ( ) of 2007 on the appointment of two commissioners to the Central Elections Commission, and the Cabinet’s Decision No (03/28/13/C.M/P.A) for 2009,

The Cabinet, in its session held in Ramallah on 8 February 2010, has issued the following decision:

Article (1) 

1. To hold elections for all local councils in one day in all Palestinian territories on 17 July 2010.
2. To call on the Central Elections Commission to proceed with all technical preparations and procedures necessary to organize local councils elections on the date assigned above.
3. To assign the Minister of Local Governance with the task of following up the organization and implementation of elections with the Central Elections Commission on behalf of the Cabinet.

Article (2)

All competent authorities, each within its own jurisdiction, shall implement this decision. The decision shall enter into force as from the date of its issue and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
