Based on the provisions of the amended Basic Law of 2003 and its further amendments, and the provisions of the decree by law No. (1) of 2007 pertaining to general elections, and based on the authorities granted to us, and for the sake of public interest:

We hereby issue the following decree:

• Article (1)
  1. The acceptance of the resignation of Advocate Mr. Hussein Shabaneh from the CEC membership.
  2. The appointment of Mr. Muhammad Nassir as CEC Commissioner.
• Article (2)

  All competent authorities, each within its own jurisdiction, shall implement this Decree. The Decree shall enter into force as from 01/03/2008 and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
