Palestine is elected to preside the Executive Board of the Arab EMBs

Palestine was elected President of the Executive Board of the Organization of Arab Electoral Management Bodies ‘Arab EMBs’ during the Arab EMBs 3rd General Assembly conference held in Jordan yesterday.

The General Assembly elected the members of the 2nd Executive Board where Mr. Hisham Kuhail, the CEO of the Elections Commission of Palestine was elected President of the Executive Board, Mr. Hussein Adam from the Independent National Elections Commission of Somalia and Mr. Abdel Hakim Belkhair from the Higher National Elections Commission of Libya were elected members.

On the other hand, Jordan, represented by Dr. Khaled Kalaldeh, Chairman of the Independent Elections Commission of Jordan, was elected as Chairman of the General Assembly of the Arab EMBs at its third session.


On the margins of the 3rd General Assembly conference, the regional conference on the electoral disputes resolution is being held for two days.


It is worth mentioning that Arab EMBs is comprised of elections commissions in 11 Arab countries which are Jordan, Palestine, Libya, Somalia, Comoros, Iraq, Tunisia, Mauritania, Sudan, Yemen, and Lebanon.
