The CEC approves the updated voters’ list for 2015

In its regular session today, the CEC approved the final updated voters’ list for 2015 compiled after the last voter registry update conducted from 1-5 March 2015 and subsequent data entry and management process. The total number of registered voters now stands at 1,951,799 representing 78.6% of the total eligible registrants, out of which are 951, 652 females and 1,000,147 males representing respectively 48.76% and 51.2% of the total number of eligible registrants.

In the West Bank (WB), the total number of registrants has reached 1,144,832 with a registration percentage of 74.9%, whereas in the Gaza Strip (GS) this number stands at 806,967 registered voters representing 84.6% of the total eligible registrants.

It should be indicated that the detailed voters list is now available through CEC’s website. Softcopies of the voters list will be handed over to representatives of political parties in the WB and GS.

With the publishing of the voters list, the CEC confirms its readiness to conduct any elections once called within the legal periods stipulated in the elections law
