The CEC and EU sign a two- year grant agreement

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) and the European Union, represented by the EU Representative Office in Palestine, have signed a two- year grant contract to finance the implementation of a project entitled ‘’ support to Central Elections Commission (CEC)’’ in the amount of two million Euros.

The project aims to maintain CEC’s readiness for upcoming elections, buttress its institutional capacities and to strengthen its civic engagement with election stakeholders. Through the course of the project the CEC will conduct a voter registry exercise targeting youth, procure required electoral material and equipment, enhance electoral awareness among youth in universities and schools and implement awareness projects targeting mainly youth and underrepresented men and women groups in marginalized areas in cooperation and partnership with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

It should be indicated that the agreement comes as part of a long and close cooperation between the CEC and EU being a key partner to the CEC since its establishment.
