The CEC publishes the final voter registry

May 19, Ramallah – The Central Elections Commission (CEC) has officially published the final voter registry which includes the names of eligible voters in each locality and provided copies of it to accredited political parties. The number of eligible voters who are entitled to participate in the upcoming local elections reached 862773 distributed to the 302 localities in the West Bank where local elections will be held on July 17.


The CEC has recently opened  centers for exhibition and challenge over a  five-day period to enable citizens to view the preliminary voter registry and object to any inaccurate information. Consequently, The  Commission received a number of objections applications  and addressed each case  according to law.


In another context, the CEC is currently preparing for the nomination period which will commence on June 1 and will last for ten days. To this end, the CEC has conducted a number of workshops for citizens, political parties and media representatives to introduce them to the nomination conditions and procedures of forming electoral lists.
