The Percentage of male votes reached 54% compared to 46% of female voters in the latest legislative elections

The CEC has finalized the process of incorporating the data for the voters who participated in the latest legislative elections which were held on January 25, 2006. The data illustrate the number of voters in each electoral district classified according to age and gender.

Statistics indicate that the age categories (23-30) and (31-41) years old obtained the highest participation percentage in the elections (24%) of the total number of voters. The percentage of voters between (18-22) years old reached 19% of the total number of voters. The over 60 years of age category represented the lowest percentage of voters at 8%. The percentage of male voters exceeded the percentage of female voters by 8%. The total number of male voters reached 565,523, i.e. 54% of the total number of voters while the total number of female voters reached 476, 901, i.e. 46% of the total number of voters.

The final results for the 2006 legislative elections both for the electoral districts and the lists have been published on the CEC website
