The CEC Chairman, Dr. Hanna Nasir, the Secretary General, Dr. Rami al- Hamdullah and the Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. Ammar Dwaik received the NDI/Carter Center observation delegation led by former US President Jimmy Carter. The meeting focused on the CEC's preparations for the legislative elections and the new mixed electoral system on the basis of which tomorrowzzz*zs elections will be conducted.
The 126-member delegation includes officials and experts from 22 countries, including the former Prime Minister of Sweden, Carl Bildt.
It should be indicated that former US President, Jimmy Carter headed the delegation which monitored the Palestinian presidential elections in 2005.
