In its preparations for polling day, the CEC has commenced its organisation of the ballot boxes. 20 employees are filling the ballot boxes with the necessary stationary and materials for distribution today to the electoral districts.
From 16 January – 20 January, 2006, the CEC will distribute the voters’ ink and sensitive materials to the electoral districts in Gaza, according to a distribution plan. The campaign is scheduled to end on 23 January. The early voting for the security forces will commence on 22 January and will continue for three days in accordance with Elections Law No. 9 of 2005 and the presidential decree issued in this regard.
The CEC training session for polling and counting officers commenced on 7 January and will end on 20 January. 338 CEC staff members will conduct 508 training sessions in electoral districts in the West Bank and Gaza Strip for over 20 000 employees.
