The CEC prepares to train polling center employees

The CEC will begin tomorrow, January 7th, 2005, to train an estimated 18,000 employees who will be managing more than 994 polling and counting centers on Election Day. 

The training will be conducted in three stages, each lasting for three days, and will be completed on January 20th, 2006. Employees to be trained include polling center presiding officers, assistants to polling center presiding officers and polling station staff.

Polling station staff will be trained by 354 polling center supervisors who have already undergone training on polling and counting procedures in the West Bank and Gaza Strip

The training will focus on polling and counting procedures and on how to handle voters' enquiries and complaints.

Training locations will be distributed throughout Palestine's 16 electoral districts. The total number of training locations is 494 (332 in the West Bank and 162 in Gaza Strip).
