CEC start the training of 300 young females and males under the “Building an Electoral Cadre” Project

Monday, September 2, 2024

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) held the first training course under the project “Capacity Building for Elections Cadre 2024”, funded by the EU, with the aim of qualifying tens of graduates to work as part of the electoral teams in the future.

Approximately 300 young females and males from the various governorates of the West Bank will benefit from these trainings, divided into 14 training courses, holding one training at a time in one of the governorates over two successive days.

During the training, discussions included the different electoral systems, particularly the electoral system in Palestine, explaining the phases of the electoral process, CEC’s roles, staff tasks and their work controls. Upon the completion of the training, each participant will receive a certificate that allows her/him to work with the CEC in the future.

It is worth mentioning that the CEC started registration for the trainings under the project “Capacity Building of Elections Cadre 2024” in the past period, after which participants were selected according to specific announced criteria. Among the most important criteria is for the participants to be a college or university graduate, aged 25-30 years, who never received similar trainings from the CEC, and is willing to work with the CEC if needed.
