The Central Elections Commission (CEC) held a Zoom meeting today with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
CEC Chairman Dr. Hanna Nasir, informed representatives of CSOs of the legal periods for the 2021 general legislative and presidential elections and CEC’s current and future arrangements.
Dr. Nasir explained that the first stage of voter registration will officially commence on 10 February for five days and that online registration is currently available through CEC’s website.
Dr. Nasir stressed that these meetings held in the WB and GS today is part of CEC’s responsibility to enhance the participation of CSOs in elections which is crucial for the success of the democratic process and ensuring widest participation in the West Bank – including Jerusalem- and the Gaza Strip alike.
On their part, participants stressed the importance of cooperation among all stakeholders for the success of the electoral process and ensuring elections fairness and integrity.
