The Central Elections Commission (CEC) signed today, Tuesday, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR) and the Civil Coalition for Elections Support and Observation, to enhance mutual cooperation and guarantee an electoral environment that protects citizens’ rights, freedoms and liberties, and guarantees the highest standards of integrity and transparency. In addition, it ensures a complaint mechanism in place for receiving and processing citizens’ complaints throughout all stages of the electoral process, from nomination to campaigning and polling. Said MoU includes the coordination of efforts and enabling citizens to exercise their constitutional right freely, while facilitating the exchange of information among interested stakeholders.

Al-Bireh – The Chairman of the Central Elections Commission (CEC), Dr. Rami Hamdallah received the Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Al-Sheikh, at the CEC’s HQ in Al-Bireh. The meeting focused on the latest updates and developments related to the flow and progress of the electoral process as well as ongoing preparations to conduct the elections in accordance with the legal and professional frameworks in force.

The Central Elections Commission (CEC), began today, Thursday, conducting an intensive training program for its field teams, in preparation for launching the nomination stage of the local elections, commencing on February 23, 2026 and closing on March 1, 2026.
