CEC Participates in Electoral Management Bodies Forum

A delegation from the CEC headed by Secretary General, Lamis Al-Alami and membership of Commissioner, Shukri Nashashibi, took part in the meetings of the Electoral Management Bodies Forum held in Cairo from 9-11 May, 2016.  

The meeting was organized by the Electoral Affairs Secretariat of the League of Arab States in partnership with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and attended by Arab EMBS from 18 Arab States, representatives from UNDP, European Union, African Union and Regional and International Organizations.  

The meetings aimed to discuss the electoral experiences in the Arab region, the various challenges faced by Arab EMBs in addition to reviewing achievements and success made in this area.  

CEO, Hisham Kuhail, also participated in the works of the Forum in his capacity as member of the Executive Board of the Organization of Arab EMBs which is founded as the first framework for regional cooperation between Arab electoral administrations and a platform for networking, exchange of information and expertise between those electoral departments, in order to improve their performance and enable them to implement the best regional and international practices in elections.
