The CEC commences training of polling and counting staff

In preparations for the polling day on 13 May, the CEC commenced beginning of this week a series of trainings for polling and counting staff in all districts of the West Bank including Jerusalem.

The CEC completed 6 centralized trainings, two days each, which targeted 170 field supervisors on polling and counting procedures. Trained supervisors, on their part, will conduct 281 decentralized trainings for over 7500 polling staff selected in cooperation with the Ministry of Education to work as polling staff in 461 polling centers in 145 localities of the WB.

Participants receive specialized training on the polling and counting procedures, how to deal with different sectors of voters, the code of conduct of stakeholders (candidates, agents, observers, journalists, guests, etc.), handling of complaints and the communication plan between staff in the field and the CEC’s central operations room. 

The CEC district offices also organize regular training sessions for the agents of electoral lists and local observers to explain the polling and counting procedures and their rights and duties on elections day.
