The CEC announces the end of voter registration for the upcoming 2017 Local Elections

The CEC announced today the end of voter registration, exhibition and challenge for the 2017 Local Council Elections which commenced last Saturday in the West Bank districts as scheduled.

Accordingly, registration centers were closed as of 3:00 pm on Wednesday along with online registration. 

The CEC has received 40 thousand new registration applications from all districts of the WB, 27 thousand of which are electronic applications, representing 70% of the total number of new registrants.

As of tomorrow, the CEC will retrieve paper registration forms and commence data entry process at the CEC’s Data Entry Center in Al-Bireh in preparations for publishing the final list of voters. 

The CEC will publish the list of new registrants on 13 March 2017 at the premises of localities and district offices to enable citizens to review registration data and submit objections to the registration of any new registrant who registered during the ended registration, exhibition and challenge period
