The CEC publishes the modified Local Elections timeline

The CEC published today the amended legal timeline for the 2017 Local Council Elections in accordance with Local Councils’ Elections Law No. 10 of 2005 and its amendments.

Accordingly, the first electoral process of voter registration, exhibition of the voters list and challenges will commence on 4 March for five days in all registration centers across the West Bank, in addition to online voter registration. Nomination of electoral lists will commence on 28 March for ten days. The final candidate lists will be published on 29 April coinciding with the launch of election campaigning which will end on 11 May. The election day will be on 13 May as announced by the Cabinet. The preliminary elections results will be published on 14 May.

The CEC calls for the cooperation of all election stakeholders in the implementation of the upcoming elections and providing the required environment and freedoms to ensure the success of the democratic process.
