The CEC and Ministry of Education conclude a training session for school supervisors

As part of Elections Education in schools project (2013), the CEC concluded today a training session for 20 school supervisors from all Palestinian districts. The training was conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Friends school. The Closing ceremony was attended by CEO Mr. Hisham Kuhail, Dr. Jihad Zakarneh, the Head of Curriculum Development Center at the Ministry of Education and Ms. Duha Al Masri the Supervisor of the training session in Friends School.

In his speech, Mr. Kuhail stressed the importance of such activities in the spread of election knowledge among youth at schools. On his Part, Mr. Zakarneh stressed the importance of having such projects that reinforce the complementary education approach that is in line with the Ministry’s core vision. The project funded by the European Union (EU) aims at enhancing election awareness in 21 schools in the West Bank, specifically among grade two students. The trained supervisors will, in their turn, disseminate acquired skills to more than 40 second grade teachers who will supervise the conduct of a simplified mock elections in the targeted schools this semester.
