The CEC announces the closure of polling centers

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announces the end of voting in the 2018 re-run local elections and closure of polling centers at 7:00 pm today as scheduled.

In a statement, the CEC announced that the number of electors in the localities in which elections were held reached 6.164 out of 11.523 eligible voters with a voter turnout of 53.6%.

The counting process commenced immediately after the closure of centers at the stations level. Counting minutes will be gathered at the headquarters of localities where the number of votes obtained by lists will be published.

The CEC added that elections ran smoothly without serious violations that may have affected the elections results.

The official results will be announced on Sunday 23/9/2018, council seats obtained by each list .
