The CEC and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sign a Grant agreement

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) signed a one-year grant agreement aiming at enhancing democratic awareness and political participation.

The agreement which was signed on 2 July by CEC Chairman, Dr. Hanna Nasir and Mr. Unni Ramboll, the Acting Head of the Representative Office of Norway in Palestine amounts to 1,600,000 NOK.

The support will finance electoral awareness programs to be implemented by the CEC in the West Bank and Gaza, mainly, empowerment and enabling of women political participation, capacity building program for the media on elections coverage, enhancing relations with political parties and the institutional capacities of CEC.

It should be indicated that this project comes as part of a long-standing cooperation between the CEC and the Government of Norway in supporting electoral awareness projects over the past years.
