The Cabinet sets a new date for complementary elections
The CEC received today a decision by the Cabinet setting the date for complementary elections on Saturday, 22 December 2012.
The Cabinet decision excluded the local councils of Dora, Deir Razih and Khorsa from elections until a judicial decision is taken on this regard.
The Cabinet has assigned the Commission with undertaking all necessary arrangements to hold local elections in the remaining localities in which elections was originally scheduled to take place last month however postponed due to political reasons.
Accordingly, the CEC announced the commencement of election campaigning activities until Thursday, 20 December 2012 in all localities except for those indicated above.
