The CEC signs a funding agreement with the EU representative office

Today, CEC Chairman, Dr. Hanna Nasir signed a funding agreement with the EU office represented by the Head of Operations Mr. Sergio piccolo, to support a number of programs aiming at buttressing CEC’s institutional and operational capacities and strengthening civic engagement with elections stakeholders in the West Bank and Gaza.

The 674,370 EUR project will be implemented over the next couple of years. Main activities will focus on enhancing the CEC’s human resource base, establishing long term relations with Civil Society organizations (CSOs), raising public awareness on elections especially among youth at schools as well as refurbishing of CEC’s Regional and district offices in Gaza.

In this context, Dr. Nasir thanked the EU representative office for the generous support which will contribute in supporting CEC’s strategic goals in maintaining readiness for future elections.
