Presidential decree on the appointment of Dr. Mohammad Nasr as CEC Commissioner

A presidential decree issued on February 23, 2008 on the acceptance of the resignation of Commissioner Hussein Shabanah from CEC membership and the appointment of Dr. Mohamad Nasr as new CEC Commissioner.

Presidential decree No. ( ) of 2008

Based on the provisions of the amended Basic Law of 2003 and its further amendments, and the provisions of the decree by law No. (1) of 2007 pertaining to general elections, and based on the authorities invested in us, and for the sake of public interest:

We hereby issue the following decree:

Article (1)

1. The acceptance of the resignation of Advocate Mr. Hussein Shabanah from the CEC membership.
2. The appointment of Mr. Mohamad Nasr as CEC Commissioner.

Article (2)

All competent authorities, each within its own jurisdiction, shall implement this Decree. The Decree shall enter into force as from 01/03/2008 and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
