Today, the CEC Chairman, Dr. Hanna Nassir and Secretary General, Dr. Rami Hamdullah met with Mr. President Mahmoud Abbas in the city of Ramallah. Dr. Nassir informed Mr. Abbas with the results of the voterszzz*z registry update process conducted in the period 28/3-1/4/2007.
Dr. Nassir indicated that the number of registrants reached around 16,800 Palestinians; most of them were from among the youth group who reached the legal age for registration. The meeting also discussed the plans set by the CEC for the annual update of the voters registry as well as the CECzzz*zs financial position.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Nassir thanked Mr. President for his continuous support to the CEC and confirmed the willingness to perform its official duties as per the law.
On his part, Mr. President highly praised the efforts the CEC exerts to accomplish its tasks and confirmed his continuous support to the Commission.
