Ashraf Al-Shuaibi assumes his duties as CEO of the Central Elections Commission

Mr. Ashraf Al-Shuaibi officially assumed his duties as Chief Electoral Officer of the Central Elections Commission, in accordance with the decision issued by the Central Elections Commission.

The Central Elections Committee decided, in its first meeting after its restructuring under the chairmanship of Dr. Rami Hamdallah, to appoint Al-Shuaibi as director of the executive management of the Commission.

Al-Shuaibi is considered one of the contributors to the establishment of the executive management of the Central Elections Commission since its establishment in 2002, where he held several senior positions over a period of 22 years, most recently as Deputy CEO. Al-Shuaibi holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Northeastern Illinois University in the United States.

Al-Shuaibi participated in organizing and monitoring elections in many countries of the world, and has more than thirty years of experience in holding local and international positions with the United Nations and the United States Agency for International Development, and also managed programs funded by the European Union and the World Bank.
