The CEC announced today, the legal calendar and timeframes for the (Second Phase) of the Local Elections, according to the Palestinian cabinet’s decision, issued on 27/09/2021. Upon which; polling is scheduled for 26/03/2021 in 66 localities in the West Bank and Gaza. 25 of which are in the Gaza strip.
In accordance with the Cabinet’s decision, and the Local Council Elections Law No. 10 of 2005 and its amendments, the CEC has prepared the Electoral timeframes and Calendar, which include the legal periods and dates to the Electoral Process, which will begin with the start of the Registration, Exhibition and Challenge period; scheduled between 8/01/2022 until 12/01/2022.
Nomination applications will be accepted during a 10-day period starting on 08/02/2022 and ending on 17/02/2022. The Final registry of electoral lists and their candidates will be published on 12/03/2022, in conjunction with the start of the electoral campaigning period. Which will last for 13 days, and will end on 24/03/2022.
Polling day, as decided by the Cabinet as well, is scheduled for 26/03/2022. While the results of the Elections will be announced the following day.
