CEC Commences Staff Training in Preparation of Exhibition and Challenge Period

Sunday, February 21, 2021

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) began conducting nine training sessions today for supervisors and employees of the exhibition and challenge centers in preparation of the exhibition and challenge period scheduled from March 1-3.

The CEC will train 181 center supervisors (130 staff in the West Bank, and 51 in the Gaza Strip). These supervisors will subsequently be responsible for the training of 1,207 additional staff members who will be distributed to the 1,090 exhibition and challenge centers across all 16 electoral districts.

Exhibition and challenge is the second stage of the upcoming 2021 Palestinian elections. During this time, a record containing the names of all voters at each polling center will be published. This enables citizens to verify their data and correct any errors, as well as submit objections to the enrollment of ineligible registrants.

The training sessions detail the procedures for exhibiting the preliminary voter registry at the assigned centers, explain the form for submitting objections, and outline the procedures for receiving objections, notifications, and adjudication.

The output produced by the exhibition and challenge period will be the final voter registry based on which the electoral process shall proceed.
