As part of electoral awareness in schools program for 2014, the CEC concluded today four training workshops in Gaza for 104 second grade teachers from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The training was conducted by MoE&HE supervisors who received prior training last week by Ms. Doha Al- Masri, a supervising Teacher at Friends School in Ramallah.
In his opening speech, Commissioner Yousif Awadullah stressed the importance the project which is implemented for the first time in Gaza in promoting democratic values and electoral culture among students.
It should be indicated that the project is funded by the EC and aims at raising electoral awareness among second graders through complementary education approach. The project targets more than 2900 students in 28 schools in Gaza and is implemented simultaneously in 100 schools in the West Bank targeting more than 6000 second graders.
