CEC Chairman Dr. Hanna Nasir announced today the end of the voter registry update which commenced on February 11th in the west Bank and Gaza strip.
The CEC received (451) thousand registration applications, 100 thousand in the West Bank and 351 Thousand in Gaza Strip. The final number of registrants will be announced as soon as the data entry process is completed. It is expected that within the next six weeks to have a final and accurate voter registry ready for any electoral event.
The CEC wishes to thank all election stakeholders, NGOs, political parties, media, observation missions and all Palestinians who contributed to the success of the registration process and particularly Ministry of Education and registration teams for their distinctive efforts.
The CEC maintains hope that registration is the first step towards a free and fair elections and national reconciliation we all aspire to.
