The CEC signs a Memorandum of Understanding with four Palestinian Universities

The CEC signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with four Palestinian Universities, i.e. Al Najah, Birzeit, Al-Quds and Al-Azhar to develop an election course to be enrolled within the universities taught courses.

According to the MOU, each university shall develop the course outline and content which will cover topics related to electoral systems and democratic practices. The course will be experimentally taught to students of related specializations during the academic year of 2014-2015.

It should be indicated that this initiative is implemented by the CEC as part of an EC funded project. It aims at encouraging academic research on electoral related issues and falls within CEC’s constant work in promoting voter’s electoral awareness amongst all sectors of society, especially youth and university students
