The Central Elections Commission (CEC) Board of Commissioners approved the nomination procedures for the legislative elections, scheduled on May 22nd, 2021.
During the meeting held at CEC HQ in Al-Bireh and via video conference with Gaza today, CEC Commissioners endorsed the nomination procedures, forms and enclosures that must be provided in the nomination application of electoral lists and their candidates for the upcoming legislative elections. In the coming days, the CEC will publish these details to the public, given that nomination for legislative elections will commence on March 20th until March 31st.
In addition, the CEC further discussed the developments in relation to the 2021 Palestinian elections, the details of the voter registration process that ended mid-February, procedures and preparations for the exhibition and challenge period scheduled to launch on March 1st, followed by nomination. CEC commissioners also reviewed the outcomes of the meetings conducted by CEC Chairman and the executive administration with the national factions, civil society organizations (CSOs), Consuls and Ambassadors to the State of Palestine.
