Today, CEC’s Chairman, Dr. Hanna Nasir, met with the representatives of political parties at the CEC’s headquarters in Ramallah.
The meeting discussed CEC’s latest activities as well as current and future projects, mainly a UNDP funded project targeting political parties through specialized training sessions on elections.
On their part, the representatives expressed support of the work of the Commission and willingness to participate in the project by nominating representatives on their behalf to attend training as of mid April.
It should be indicated that the CEC is currently implementing a 1 year program entitled “Support to the Elections Commission” funded by the Global Program for Electoral Cycle Support (GPECS) and implemented in cooperation with the UNDP to enhance the capacities of CEC staff and engagement with civic society organizations and election stakeholders such as political parties and the media.
