CEC signs an MOU with the Palestinian Civil Police Force

The CEC, represented by its chairman; Dr. Hanna Nasir, signed today: Thersday a memorandum of understanding with the General Directorate of Police; represented by Major General Yousif Helo. It aims to strengthen cooperation between the two parties in preparation for the completion of the (Second Phase) of the Local Elections.
During the signing at the CEC’s headquarters in al Bireh, Dr. Nasir explained that this MOU comes under the framework of continuous cooperation between the CEC and the Police to secure polling centers where the (Second Phase) of the Local Elections will be taking place on 26-03-2022. As well as securing CEC staff and headquarters. 
On the Major General’s end, he added that the police’s leadership are working on solidifying cooperation and unification with all parties to eventually come up with mechanisms to develop and to facilitate the electoral process in all districts around the nation. 
The MOU emphasizes the continuation of coordination between the two parties during different stages of the electoral process.  The connection of the Police’s operations room with that of the CEC’s. As well as the CEC providing the Police with what’s required of it; lists for its offices, headquarters and polling centers. Additionally, the police commits to securing polling centers, offices and headquarters of the CEC. In addition to securing the movement of electoral materials and that of CEC staff between its headquarters, offices, and polling centers. Last but not least; to facilitate the CEC’s mission to hold the elections, especially during Polling day.
