CEC Chairman Dr. Hanna Nasir met today with the EU Representative Mr. Sven Kuhn von Burgsdorff, at CEC HQ in Al-Bireh.
The meeting discussed the latest developments with regards to the upcoming 2021 general elections following the issuance of a presidential decree calling for elections.
Dr. Nasir also discussed CEC’s current and future elections preparations, the first stage of which is voter registration.
Dr. Nasir raised the issue of possible Israeli obstacles that might hinder the conduct of elections in Jerusalem, urging the EU to exercise pressure on the Israeli side in this regard.
On his part, Mr. Burgsdorff stressed EU’s support to the democratic and electoral process in Palestine.
