The following are the key aspects of Elections Law No (9) of 2005 that address the issue of campaign finance reporting:

1. All electoral lists and candidates are forbidden from receiving campaign funding, directly or indirectly, from foreign sources.

2. All electoral lists and candidates are forbidden from receiving campaign funding from the Palestinian National Authority.

3. All electoral lists and candidates that participate in the elections must submit a detailed report of funding sources and amounts spent during the elections campaigning period to the CEC within a maximum period of one month after the election results are announced.

4. Campaign funding limits: The expenditure limit for a presidential campaign and/or an electoral list is one million USD or equivalent in legal currencies. The limit for spending on a candidate’s campaign for PLC membership is 60 000 USD or its equivalent in legal currencies.
